Born in 1993 in Paris, lives and works in Tel Aviv.
Lilà is a choreographer, dancer and performer originally from Paris and currently based in Tel Aviv, Israel.
She grew up in a very artistic environment and has been confronted from a very young age with a plurality
of disciplines that she practices in a pre-professional way: piano, singing, martial arts with Judo and Ju-jitsu,
as well as dance. She specializes herself in Jazz dance and continues her studies until obtaining the Higher
National Diploma of Dancer (DNSP) and a degree in Fine Arts of
the Upper Pole of Paris.
Her first creation for four dancers and five musicians is a ten-minute piece, produced to obtain her
prize and invited by the Orange Foundation for an event chaired
by Emmanuel Macron in 2015.
Lilà Rougier then continues on to collaborations with musicians in New York,Italy and then Israel.
In 2015 she moved to Kibbutz Gaaton (Israel) to train in Gaga technique from Ohad Naharin
(Batsheva Dance Company)and dance in many pieces of the repertoire of Sharon Eyal,
Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, Noa Zuk and Mats Ek. She then joined the Kolben
Dance Company (Jerusalem) with whom she performs nationally and internationally.
In 2019, she joined Idan Sharabi’s dance company for which she is successively soloist,
rehearsal director and teacher of his dance technique- Rega.
In 2019 and 2022, her dance company received two awards from Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture
(New York). Lila Rouge company was invited for several artistic residencies and performances in Israel
and in Italy from 2015 to now a days and developed pluridisciplinary collaborations with video artists
and musician.
Lilà Rougier graduated in Computer science and coding at the Developer Institute in 2020.
Her research combines digital and movement to the performance. Since 2022 she works with the NGO
Tech2Peace, giving movement workshops to Palestinian and Israeli youth around peace and understanding.
She uses the body as a tool to allow two communities to meet and share together.
Her workshops are centered around the “moving together”. She explores with them how
to initiate a movement without necessarily agreeing going into the same direction. Her latest creation
co created with Billy Barry and Gianni Notarnicola, received the support of Ohad Naharin
and the Batsheva Company. The show ALIVETIME was performed at the Contemporary Center
of Art of Tel Aviv Yaffo and at the Inbal Dance Theater in Suzanne Dellal in June 2023.

ALIVETIME
ALIVETIME was co created with Billy Barry and Gianni Notarnicola.
A three chapter journey through life that visits moments of
devastation, self discovery and sublime bliss.
Creating individually
but often in the same space,
these solos somehow become influenced by and
connected to each other.
Each one creates with a strong desire to express,
to be heard, to be understood.
Each chapter showcases a predominant
emotion but contains deeper nuances that bleed from one solo to the next.
Snapshots of significant times in our lives that shape
who we are for a lifetime.
Created in 2022 with the support of Batsheva Dance Company
Performed at the Contemporary Center of Arts of Tel Aviv Yaffo (2023),
and at Inbal Dance Theater (2023).

Off-Screen
Off-Screen is a dance piece but doesn’t happen on a stage...
The dancers are physically ready but they are
not moving,
the dancing is omnipresent, but it happens
somewhere else,
the audience is present but stolls.
The show has started ,
but it requires a phone to be seen,
the relation with the audience is distanced
but the dancers are present...
in their intimacy.
Immersive, this piece invites the audience to
explore the limits of art’s digitalisation.
Created in 2021 with the support of Tmuna Theater and Intima Dance Festival
Performed at Tmuna Theater (2021),
and at the festival Yaffo-110 (2023).

Pagliaccio
The solo Pagliaccio explores the spot of women in society.
The dancer becomes through her motion the personified icon alternatively of an
abused woman or a jested clown.
In a white dress, as a greek figure,
asylum shadow, she is all the enclosed women.
Silent, she relives her abuses without
never stopping moving forward.
Victim or executioner, she alone interprets several
characters. Never listened to, she becomes like Pagliaccio, a clown despites herself.
Directly inspired by La Comedia del Arte, I use the theatrical dimension
in order to assist the motion.
Created in 2018 at Kelim Choregraphical Center and performed
performed at Yasmeen Goder Studio (2019),
Tmuna Theater (2023),
and at the Theater Habait (2023).

Aquilone
The duet Aquilone was created for the Festival Intima dance in 2017.
The two dancers are here confronted to an impossible relationship story. Just like in a fight
with himself, the dancer performs movements inspired
from combat techniques and in the physical intensity he needs constantly to overcome
himself.
Like a kite, he runs around the dancer which whom, almost immobile,
pivots in slow motion in the opposite direction.
Carried away by the wind he continues
his mad ride until he finally meets her without yet succeeding to catch her.
Performed at Tmuna Theater (2017), at Performa Festival (2017)
and at the Habait Theater (2018).

Yalda
The solo Yalda was created for LaStation’s rooftop
in residency at the Palazzo Legari in 2016. This piece is an original colaboration with
the musician Alessandro Raeli
and two videomakers Gianluca Carluccio and Fulvio.
Their live projections of images inspired by nature overlay the dancer.
Side specific, the wind and the bluff of the space are part of the creation.
The dancer deploys her wings and
is carried from one side to the other of the expanse.
Hanging breath,
she spins in a white drape. Like the albatros, she
becomes the bird exiled on earth whose “giant's wings hinder her from walking” .
Performed at LaStation (2016), at the graduation ceremony of the
Pole Superieur of Paris
(2016)
and at the Habait Theater (2018).

Balade
The duet Balade was created in 2016 in the context of
the Masa program at the Kibbutz Contemporary company.
The dancers almost static on stage undertake a loving dialogue.
Almost invisible, their relation is developing through minimalist movements.
The authenticity of the gesture is essential. They communicate
through their interpretation and together they play “the game of life”.
Performed at the Theater Zichi (2016)

the premises of a destructive love,
even before a relationship,
the performers play the game of life,
while they can.
